Malaysian Sports and the Local Betting Spirit
Malaysia is a nation that lives and breathes sport. From packed football stadiums to badminton courts buzzing with fan support, from kopitiams that suddenly erupt when a UFC fight goes live to primary schools that can't stop talking about Lee Zii Jia's latest match — sport is woven into every corner of Malaysian life. That's where minion88 comes in, as your trusted companion that takes your passion for sport to a whole new level of excitement.
The minion88 sports platform is not built for just one type of player. Some follow badminton closely because they grew up watching the Sidek brothers and Rashid Sidek. Others have recently fallen for e-sports after their children started playing Mobile Legends. Then there are those who have followed the EPL for years but are only now getting serious about betting. minion88 welcomes all of them with a platform that is straightforward to navigate yet deep enough for the seasoned bettor.
Local Pride: Minion88 pays special attention to sports featuring Malaysian athletes. Whenever Lee Zii Jia, Aaron Chia, Wooi Yik, or the national football team is in action, minion88 opens dedicated markets with attractive odds and more betting options than other platforms on the market.
Badminton – Malaysia's Pride Sport at Minion88
No other sport captures the Malaysian spirit quite like badminton. From the era of the Sidek brothers to Lee Chong Wei's reign, and now Lee Zii Jia alongside men's doubles pair Aaron Chia and Wooi Yik — Malaysia has always had a name at the highest level of world competition. Minion88 celebrates this legacy by offering the most comprehensive badminton coverage among all online betting platforms in Malaysia.
For every BWF World Tour match — from Super 100 events right up to the most prestigious Super 1000 — minion88 offers match winner markets, set handicaps, set over/under totals, exact set scores, and in-play betting. The standout feature is minion88's live badminton betting, where odds shift in real time with every point played, turning each rally into a genuinely thrilling moment.
E-Sports – A Fast-Growing New Arena
In just a few years, esports has grown from a teenage hobby into a multi-billion MYR entertainment industry followed by millions of fans worldwide, including in Malaysia. Mobile Legends is a phenomenon in its own right here — from shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur to internet cafes in small-town Kedah, ML is played by people from all walks of life. And minion88 recognises this potential.
At minion88, esports coverage spans the Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL), DOTA2 The International and its qualifiers, CS2 Major Championships, and the Valorant Champions Tour. Available markets include match winner, map/game handicap, first-round winner, total kills, and more. Players who closely follow the Malaysian and Southeast Asian esports scene hold a real edge when putting that knowledge to work.
Tennis, MMA & Other Global Sports
Beyond local sports, minion88 is also the go-to destination for Malaysian players who follow the global sporting calendar. Tennis is one of the most exciting sports to bet on, with a packed schedule of matches year-round — from the Australian Open to the US Open, from ATP 250 events to the Grand Slams. Tennis odds at minion88 are highly competitive, with a wide range of markets including set winner, handicap games, and total sets in a match.
UFC and ONE Championship appeal to a different crowd altogether. Mixed martial arts has become hugely popular in Malaysia, partly driven by ONE Championship's frequent events across Southeast Asia. Minion88 provides odds for every major fight card, with dedicated markets such as method of victory (KO/TKO, Submission, Decision), number of rounds and round-by-round winner.
